Its the first month of the new year and my first post of 2021! I’m in the process of buying a house so have been beyond busy. I’ve set this years reading goal at 50, so I’ll hopefully be reading at least 1 book a week. Let me know in the comments how many books you’re planning on reading this year!
Book 1.

Breaking Dawn By Stephanie Meyer , After the release of Midnight Sun in 2020, I decided to read the entire series which I didn’t do as a teen. I definitely think I would have enjoyed them more as a teen, but it was a nice bit of escapism non the less!
Book 2.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magicians Nephew by C.S Lewis, An absolute treasure of a book, I had such fun reading this before going to sleep, such a comforting read.
Book 3

The Subtle Art of Not Giving A Fuck by Mark Manson, My first 5 star read of the year! This book had some really thought provoking points about life problems and frankly giving a F*ck about the wrong things, I agree that we’re all more caught in up in caring about things and people that dont care about us when we should be focusing on our value system and learning what’s really important to us during our time as a blip in space.
Book 4

The Ecology Of Invasions By Animals And Plants by Charles S. Elton: I have been reading this one for around a year! Non fiction reads always take me a long time. I was determined to read one the most important books in Ecology. Kinda scary how much we knew about invasive species and biodiversity 70 years ago and we are still facing the same problems on an even larger scale. Yay Humans.
Book 5

No One Is Too Small to Make a Difference by Greta Thunberg, A short collection of speeches this incredible young girl has made, I honestly dont know how she’s got the guts to do what she does, I admire her greatly.
Book 6

The Duke and I by Julia Quinn, a fast paced regency romance that I picked up after enjoying the show, definitely some problematic aspects but I enjoyed it on the whole for what it is.
6/50 Books read in the month of January so I feel happy with the progress towards my goodreads challenge.
Congrats on six books Elysia, and good luck with buying a house! I bought a flat last year and it was a lengthy process! Have a lovely February ☺
